Chapter 2 – An Online Friendship

1. THE STORY – HİKÂYE

One evening, Alex visits the EdirneTurkey.com Facebook group again.

He is reading some posts about Edirne when he sees a message from a young Turkish man.

His name is Murat. He is 27 years old and lives in Edirne. He posted some photographs of the city yesterday.

Alex likes the photographs and writes a comment.

Alex: Hello! My name is Alex. I live in London. I saw your post about Edirne.

Murat: Hello, Alex! I’m Murat. Are you planning to visit Edirne?

Alex: Yes, I want to visit Edirne this summer.

Murat: That’s nice! Why do you want to visit Edirne?

Alex: I saw some photographs on EdirneTurkey.com last week. I liked the city.

Murat: There are many interesting places here. What are you doing now?

Alex: I’m reading about Edirne. I’m also looking at some photographs.

Murat: That’s great! I can tell you more about my city.

Alex: Thank you, Murat. Can you help me plan my visit?

Murat: Of course! I’ll help you.

Alex is happy. He made a new friend in Turkey.

Now he knows someone in Edirne. Perhaps he will meet Murat this summer.
