“Present Simple” (Geniş Zaman) “esas olarak” şu durumlarda kullanılır:
1) Düzenli olarak gerçekleşen şeyler hakkında konuşmak için
Örnek: Ben her gün okula giderim / I go to school every day.
He plays football / O futbol oynar.
2) Gerçek durumlar hakkında konuşmak için
Örnek: I speak French / Ben Fransızca konuşurum –Ay dünyanın etrafında döner / The moon turns arounD the earth.
Bu zaman kurgusunu hem TO BE (olmak) fiili için hem de ACTION VERBS (eylem fiilleri için kullanabiliriz:

I am a teacher / Ben bir öğretmenim (her zaman / yani geniş zamanda)
You are a student / Sen bir öğrencisin (Siz bir öğrencisiniz) (geniş zamanda / yalnız şu anda değil)
He is… She is… We are… You are… They are diye gider bu kalıp
Questions / Sorular
I am a teacher => Am I a teacher?
You are a student => Are you a student..
Is he a student … Is she a student… Are we students.. Are you students…. Are they students
Negative / Olumsuz
I am NOT a teacher => Ben bir öğretmen değilim
You are NOT ateacher => Sen bir öğretmen değilsin
He is not … She is not It is not … We are not … You are not … They are not
ACTION VERBS / EYLEM FİİLLERİ İLE KULLANIM
I teach English / Ben İngilizce öğretirim (to TEACH: Öğretmek)
You work in Istanbul / Sen İstanbul’da çalışırsın (to WORK: Çalışmak)
He plays football / O futbol oynar (to PLAY: oynamak)
She plays… It plays… We play… You play… They play…
O oynar, Biz oynarız…. Onlar oynar diye devam eder bu kalıp
Questions / Sorular
I teach English => Do I teach English? Ben ingilizce mi öğretirim?
You teach English => Do you teach English? Sen İngilizce mi öğretirsin?
He teaches English => Does he teach English? O) İngilizce mi öğretir?
Does she teach… Do we teach… Do you teach… Do they teach?
Negative : Olumsuz
I DO NOT teach English / Ben İngilizce öğretmem
You DO NOT teach English / Sen İngilizce öğretmezsin
He DOES NOT teach English……. O İngilizce öğretmez………….
